Mid Month March Check in
My de cluttering is going well so far! Would like to tackle more of it this weekend...but so far have 3 bags of clothes and 10 items to give away.
Our plastic removal in the kitchen is going great. I've racked up enough consignment credit to get us each (minus me) a Kleen Kanteen instead of sippies and sports bottles. I will have one too by the end of the month I'm sure. All tupperware was replaced with mason jars which we use for leftovers in fridge and freezer. All plastic kids utencils and plates donated or consigned. They use regular plates perfectly fine, go figure. :) We used to fill plastic water containers from the machine at the grocery store when needed and had a whole collection of plastic water jugs. That will be replaced by our new R.O system we just got in the mail. This month was a BIG change for us just b/c it kept growing! all I wanted to do was throw out sippies!
I've been keeping us to using the reusable grocery bags and walking to the grocery store as often as possible. So far we've made 3 walking trips to the Publix on the corner and only needed plastic grocery bags once. That's a BIG improvement for us. We've just got to keep it up now. :)
The homemade lotion experiment got off to a bit of a rocky start, as batch one wasn't nearly moisturizing enough for my very dry skin. My roommate (who has similar dry-skin problems) and I came up with a new and MUCH improved (if you need lots of moisture) version, which she blogged here: http://themildthings.wordpress.com/2011/03/13/lotion-for-thirsty-skin/
I will be completely honest, I am struggling here! I am so behind on everything in life and feeling really overwhelmed, but I am not giving up just yet. I plan to buy some PUL from my sister, to make some "Mama Cloth" and am hoping to have them all made by the end of this month...I WILL do this!
Been awhile since I checked in but I am continuing to make small changes Here is my latest change!
